Canon marks EOS-1D Mark III and makes a recall on it’s top model

On October 25th, Canon sent a letter ro all dealers, stating that they have “decided to stop shipment of all EOS-1D Mark III. We would therefore like to collect all unsold EOS-1D Mark III units from your stock.” A shipping recommencement date is promised at a later time.

Olympus presents E-3, new model in it’s E series which is a ten-megapixel (High Speed Live MOS sensor) professional digital SLR. The E-single digit cameras are built, using the 4/3 stantard. It claims to have the world’s fastest auto-focusing speeds via an advanced AF system and new ZUIKO DIGITAL SWD (Supersonic Wave Drive) lenses. Highest levels of speed and image quality as well as Live View capabilities, shutter speeds of up to 1/8000th sec. and 5fps sequential shooting (with a 19 image RAW buffer in burst mode), Live View on its multi-angle, 2.5″/6.4cm HyperCrystal LCD. The camera also features TruePic III image processing engine.
The Olympus E-3 Body is going to cost £1099 ($2237) in the UK. It will be available from end of November.

Fujifilm FinePix S800FD “Bridge” digital camera

Right on the heels of Fujifilm’s announcement of their IS Pro, they now present their S800FD point and shoot. The S800FD seems like a nice transition if you are wanting to make the jump to DSLR.
